Job Title:                Product Support Specialist

Reports To:           Group Sales Manager

Job location:         Covering all depots

Job Purpose

Provide product sales support and demonstrations to the sales team working closely with our customers and suppliers to achieve key targets and deliver revenue and profitability in line with company budget.  This role will involve working across the complete sales territory and thus, working with every depot sales manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstration of new Massey Ferguson tractors, harvesters and other machinery in support of the sales team
  • Demonstration of precision farming equipment
  • Offer occasional technical support to the Service Department to solve customer issues, especially related to precision farming and harvesting product
  • Contributing towards the achievement of sales targets set by our major suppliers
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Present, promote and assist the sales of machinery and equipment to meet the needs of existing and prospective customers
  • Carry out in-house training on new technologies to sales, parts and service staff, when required
  • Selling the complete package of product plus after-sales to add value to the sales proposition
  • Deliver professional product installations to customers in support of the sales team
  • Management of company demonstration fleet
  • Provide sales support in the office and at promotional events as back up to the sales team
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Supply management with activity reports
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Implementation of company health & safety procedures

Administration:

  • Maintaining accurate records of all customer demonstration activity
  • Working with a customer contact diary and planner
  • Produce monthly activity reports

Databases:

  • Utilisation of territory database
  • Utilisation of company IT system and reports

Communication:

  • Keep sales team and management fully aware of demonstration activities
  • Liaison and communication with customers, colleagues, manufacturers and suppliers
  • Monthly sales meetings – sharing of relevant sales news and progress
  • Working closely with company Marketing team to ensure full customer reach and raise company and suppliers’ brand awareness

Confidential Information:                 Customer Database, Prices, Discounts, Profit Margins and similar commercial information.

Degree of Supervision:                       Works closely with Sales team and managed by Sales Manager                                                           

Working Conditions:                           Regular travel around C&O territory of responsibility. Occasional overseas travel to attend key manufacturer training

Equipment and Tools:                         Company vehicle, PC, mobile phone and IT based applications.

At times the Product Support Specialist will be expected to perform duties outside of this job description in order to ensure the maintenance of a high level service to our customers

Person Specification:

  • Highly motivated individual with ability to deliver high standards without supervision
  • Good presentation skills and confidence to address an audience
  • Proven working experience with agricultural machinery
  • Knowledge of agricultural equipment and farming practise is essential
  • Prioritising, time management and organisational skills
  • Able to deliver high levels of customer service
  • Good communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Competent PC skills and administrative ability
  • Familiarity with CRM practices
