Construction Area Sales Manager – West Sussex

Purpose of the Construction Area Sales Manager Role

The sale of construction equipment to potential and existing customers in a designated area.

Working in association with our suppliers and working closely to our group sales team to achieve key sales and financial targets set both by suppliers and as agreed with the management team.

 This role includes the following main responsibilities:

  • Territory planning and management
  • Maximising customer contact time, identification and contact of potential customers
  • Arrange and conduct machinery demonstrations
  • Used equipment appraisals and valuation
  • Preparation of quotations with sales and finance managers
  • Negotiate, handle objections and close sales
  • Preparation of manual sales orders
  • Introduce new customers to aftersales departments
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Manage territory credit control
  • Liaison and communication with customers, colleagues, manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Keep abreast of best construction practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Ensure implementation of the company’s policy on Health & Safety

Personal Specification:

  • Proven working experience as a sales manager
  • Knowledge of selling machinery is essential
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Prioritising, time management and organisational skills
  • Able to deliver high levels of customer service
  • Good communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Competent PC skills and administrative ability
  • Familiarity with CRM practices
  • Educated to HND level as a minimum
